EDTC treats adult women (18 and older) with any eating disorder, including anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder, ARFID, and OSFED, along with co-occurring conditions such as anxiety, depression, PTSD, OCD, and substance use. Women do not need a prior diagnosis or a referral to reach out; our admissions team completes a confidential assessment by phone.

Yes, we admit women from across Louisiana and from other states; many clients fly into Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY), about an hour away, and our admissions team helps coordinate travel and arrival. What level of care does EDTC provide?
EDTC provides 24-hour residential treatment, which the ASAM criteria classify as Level 3.7 medically managed residential care, with on-site medical detox (ASAM Level 3.7-WM) for women who also need withdrawal management. Residential care is the right level for women whose eating disorder is medically or psychologically serious enough that outpatient or day treatment has not been enough. After residential treatment, we help each client step down to partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, or outpatient care close to home.
